Dear Friends,

There was a very warm and enthusiastic response to both the recent slideshow of the Brahmasthan of India and Dr. Girish Varma’s video describing the origins of the project. So many wrote to us, expressing how heartwarming these presentations were. Thank you for this feedback.

Also, many of you who are following the progress of the Vedic Pandit project at the Brahmasthan made the suggestion that we create a simple, automatic monthly plan for those wishing to support this program in a way that ties this automatic monthly donation amount to the actual costs of covering (or partially covering) one or more Pandits. Arlene and I so deeply appreciate this very kind thought especially in light of all the financial pulls on you and even more so at these challenging economic times.

Maharishi Vedic Pandits

We have implemented this idea on our beautiful new website. Now, when you go to the donation page on the Pandit website, you will see a link Sponsor a Pandit. By following this link you will be able to participate in this monthly plan, which addresses our most urgent need — the ongoing support of our dear Pandits.

Here is our plan:

It costs approximately US $240 per month to properly take care of one Pandit at the Brahmasthan. This covers housing, food, utilities, new clothing at regular times during the year, scholarship for the Pandit and his family, costs for the Acharyas (teachers), administration and security, repair and maintenance on buildings including maintaining air coolers for the hot months, and other such items. So someone generously donating $240 per month is supporting a Vedic Pandit completely, or a donation of $120 per month takes care of a Pandit for half the year.

Our hope is that we can have at least 2,000 donors around the world sign up for donations of at least $120 per month. This will bring in an incremental $240,000 per month and fully support 1,000 additional Pandits at the Brahmasthan of India. This, along with our current level of support, should ensure that we can right away bring the Brahmasthan up to a permanent group of well over 2,000 (there are about 1,150 Pandits there now) — and give them a proper level of care.

In Appreciation—The 7th Chapter of Maharishi’s Bhagavad Gita

As an expression of our deep appreciation for those who are able to provide at least half the cost of supporting a Maharishi Vedic Pandit in the Brahmastan, i.e. $120/month, we are pleased to honor their very generous commitment with a precious gift, the never before released 7th chapter of Maharishi’s Translation and Commentary of the Bhagavad Gita. Maharishi calls this 7th chapter “the Yoga of Perfect Enlightenment” which analyzes Truth from the point of view of manifest life.

We understand that not everyone can afford the $240 or $120 per month and we would warmly welcome your support at whatever level you feel. I am sure that with broad based support at whatever level our donors feel able, in the aggregate we will hit this target.

We can all sense the opportunity now for the trends of time to shift in favor of positivity, peace and prosperity. The contribution of the Maharishi Vedic Pandits to stabilize and accelerate this global trend is vital. Your on-going support of the Pandits ensures that it will happen. We would like to encourage you to forward this newsletter to your friends to offer them the opportunity to be a part of this most powerful transformation in world consciousness.

Arlene joins in thanking you so much for your love and concern for this project; and indeed for all of Maharishi’s programs.

With all gratitude for your support and very best wishes,

Jai Guru Dev
